Jeff Kolb is a sports anchor and reporter at FOX4 in Dallas. Jeff hosts and co-hosts the station’s nightly half-hour sports show, Free4All. He also co-hosts a pair of video podcasts he launched at the station: the Who Cares?! pod, focused on Dallas-area sports; and 4th and 12, a podcast collaboration between FOX4 and the United Football League, covering all eight UFL teams. Jeff also anchors FOX4’s weekend sportscasts, travels to report on Dallas teams and tells enterprise sports feature stories. Jeff was also the first chairman of the Society of Professional Journalists national Sports Journalism Committee.

Sports are almost always there for us as that fun escape in our day. But on November 6th, 2025, the Dallas sports world and NFL were devastated by the suicide of 24 year old Cowboys defensive end, Marshawn Kneeland. I had developed a relationship with Marshawn that began when he allowed me to share the story of losing his mother, suddenly, while preparing for the NFL Draft. The tragedy of losing Marshawn led us into a heartbreaking, rare, but important conversation about mental health and suicide prevention.
